Looking to Save Money On Your Quince Fiesta? Try A Bridal Expo!
by: Michael Kabel
How much of your Quince fiesta budget is designated especially for the gown or dress you'll wear? Probably a lot. But the money you save on the gown can go towards making all the other areas of the fiesta - the decorations, the food, the guest favors - even better. Money saved is money earned, and the better you can spend your budget, the better your Quince celebration becomes.
One great way to save money - sometimes a lot of money - on your Quince anos
gown is to raid the bridal expos and fairs that are held at least annually in most cities. These are special three or four-day events especially set up to help women plan for their wedding events.
Bridal and fashion expo 101
It's not generally known to those not involved in planning such an event, but the bridal and formal wear industry is much, much bigger than most people believe. Thousands of people work in every facet of planning and execution - everything from the food served at receptions to hairstyling and makeup tips to entertainment for the reception.
These shows are generally held over the course of a single weekend, but they sometimes last even longer. Admission isn't usually free, but it'd not necessarily expensive, either - usually between five and ten dollars. The shows are commonly held in civic centers, hotel ballrooms, and other large-venue locales.
Many expos also feature bridal shows displaying the latest formalwear fashions. These shows are typically held at night and include samples from the many different vendors present at the expo.
Shopping at a bridal expo for your Quinceañera gown
We're not necessarily saying you should wear a bridal gown to you Quince fiesta. However, you may find something similar - a bridesmaid's gown, say - that will work as your Quince fiesta attire. Or, you might make contact with a custom designer of gowns who'll work with you to create the gown you've always planned.
You might also wish to take your damas along, and have them pick out there dresses from the gowns and dresses on display.
Plan your fiesta using wedding reception resources
The same caterers, entertainers, and decorators who make their living providing for wedding receptions and events will have no problem at all working within a Quinceañera plan. The parties are so similar in size and scope, really, that these professionals wilil be able to adapt in no time.
You can use bridal expos to make person-to-person contact with professionals you might never meet going through the phone book or online. And meeting them face-to-face lets you get a feel for their skill and also their reliability.
Attending a bridal expo in your area
Bridal expos are sometimes easy to miss, because they're not always heavily announced to the general public. Just the same, they're advertised in the newspaper (sometimes in the Saturday or Sunday editions of the same weekend they occur) and on local television talk shows. Of course, you can always search online.
You should probably attend with your mother or with one of your padrinos, since the costs will be a factor. They vendors at the expos will (unfortunately) be more likely to negotiate with an older adult. If nothing else, you're bound to get plenty of ideas you can implement in other ways.
